Problem

As three distinct products evolve into one unified platform, it's even more critical to create consistent user experiences, interactions, and interfaces while increasing the efficiency and speed of the design team.

Role

Designing reusable, accessible, token-based components. Authoring design system structure and component guidelines. User testing select components and patterns. Working with engineers to maintain Storybook.

Results

3-4 week design cycles reduced to 1-2 weeks. Reliable consistency across platform modules. Faster, high-fidelity wireflows and prototypes - helpful for stakeholders who need to see "as close to real" as possible.

Problem

Building a customized demo is tedious and time consuming which limits presales teams capacity and efficiency. Vivun's Demo Automation scales efforts to increase team capacity, improve conversion, and close deals faster.

Role

Lead designer owning end-to-end product design including UX testing, design iterations, and handoff including acceptance criteria. Partnering with product and customers to gather context and understand problems. Working closely with engineers to ensure design solutions are technically scalable.

Results

A demo automation solution that empowers presales professionals to quickly generate a product replica which can be quickly customized and shared with a prospect. Generated $80k+ in revenue while in "design parternship" with select customers.

Problem

As a distributed team, we need to continuously align on process and working agreements around product requirements, design handoff, bugs and blockers, quality assurance testing, meeting cadences and more.

Role

Leading workshops and conversations to identify team values and desired outcomes. Key contributor of defining team processes and working agreements. Champion of collaborating early and often with product, design, and engineering.

Results

Team delivering quality features at the highest velocity.

2020 — 2021

Problem

As an IBM content marketer, you want to create the best-in-class case studies, whitepapers, and interactive data visualizations. And if your team had a dedicated designer and engineer, you did. For content marketers with fewer resources, you outsource the production of your marketing assets to a different department, often taking weeks to get your content to market.

Role

Lead designer and front-end engineer owning the UX/UI design and technical implementation of static site generators. Training content marketers to run and generate production-ready content.

Results

Equipped with a series of configurable templates (static site generators), IBM content marketers were able to bring the production of their materials "in-house." Marketing professionals with little to no technical skills learned to fill out a JSON or YAML file and run a command for a production-ready asset that made it to market faster.

Overview

CNN's content development team was a cross-functional group of talented experts dedicated to researching and producing new experiences and products to engage audiences with the CNN brand, including gamification of news and politics, limited edition publications, and second-screen experiences.

CNN Daily Politics Quiz App

Gamification of historical and modern politics for audiences with a bit of competitive streak. This product's goal was to engage a younger audience and increase user registration.
